Live Chat ID/Tracking Number

Hi,

I was told before the new release of livezilla that,

A new feature would be added, which would do; place a chat ID number on the client side, so, if the client has a complaint, they can then give the chat ID number to management for them to lookup,

Which means, all chats would be saved on the server, and in the live chat client (Admin Side), there would be a part where you can type in the Chat ID number and the whole chat will then come up!


Has this been placed in the new release (Latest Livezilla), because I was advised by livezilla last year that this feature would be added????

Yes, this feature is available in 3.1.8.6. You can add a placeholder for the chat reference id into your predefined chat welcome message and the chat archive comes with a search function for that purpose.

However, there's also a button called "Archive" next to the chat input box on operator side which enables you to search directly for matching chats.

exactly where is this feature? i see that the chat id is stored in the archives but in the client's web window it doesnt show or tell them what their id is.

it would also be nice to change the welcome message to them to say like

Hello [user], my name is [operator], For the duration of this chat your chat id is [id#], how may I help you?

Sorry, you are right, the information how to do it is still missing.

The placeholder %chat_id% will be replaced by the chat reference id.

This would work as welcome message:

... or the duration of this chat your chat id is %chat_id%, how may I help you?

It should just be placed as: Your Chat ID is' at the top of the chat window.

As i said before, the tracking number should be at the top, because when a chat starts, if the chat ID's pupup's as the first automated message then after a while of chatting, the page begins to get big so at the end of the chat if the client want's to obtain the chat ID, they would have to go all the way to the top of the page and read the first message,

So, i think the Chat ID should be places at the top but in an area where it wont go become invisible when the client keeps chatting,
e.g: at the moment, there is a word "Welcome plus the Company name" at the very top, the chat ID should be place just under the the 'company name + Welcome' As: Your Live Chat ID is:
Also, this wording should also be changeable with server admin!

The best thing would be activate the email chat transcript, so even if the customer forgets to notice the number, he got it via email.
