How can I change/reset the administrator password?

This article explains how to change your LiveZilla administrator password.

For security reasons, it is not possible to recover your password. You will have to set a new one:

LiveZilla 7.x, 6.x, 5.x, 4.1.x
  1. Open the LiveZilla MySQL database using an MySQL editor like PHPMyAdmin.
  2. The table operators contains records for all operators.
  3. Edit the row of the regarding operator / administrator.
  4. Use an md5-encoder (can be found on the internet) to encode a new password.
  5. Set the md5-encoded password as value for the field password.
  6. Please empty the LiveZilla MySQL table operator_logins.
  7. Please empty the LiveZilla MySQL table data_cache.
  8. Sign on to the client and change your password using the inbuilt function to apply secure hashing.

LiveZilla 3.x and 4.0.x
  1. Connect to your webserver using a common FTP Client (e.g. FileZilla, freeware).
  2. Change to the _internal directory. You will find a *.php file for each user here.
  3. Open the php file of the regarding operator. If you don't know which file belongs to the administrator account, please open the file in order to find out which ID relates to which password file.
  4. Use an md5-encoder (can be found on the internet) to encode a new password.
  5. Save the md5-encoded password into the .php password file. Please make sure that you keep the syntax of the file when replacing the old md5 string with the new one.
