I was thinking, after the new version of LiveZilla is released, if the developers still have time, to implement a great ticket system into it, just like Kayako did. Just a thought :)

ticket systems are pretty much for offline messages and it already does that. Also most ticket systems require people to signup which I find retarded. However there are already a few free ticket system options as it is so I don't really see a need for them to build one from scratch.

I would love to have this

In our case it would be nice, if it determined that an issue brought up in a chat would require further investigation, to be able to push the chat into our ticket system. For us if we could send the chat as an email to support@ then it would automatically end up in the ticket system.

Thanks

A ticket system is beyond the scope of livezilla. Perhaps livezilla should just be able to be integrated with existing systems.

agreed. I wouldn't say it's beyond it possibilities but I would say that integration with an already distributed ticket system would be much better and more likely as it wouldn't be as big of a task if there is a system with an API to hook to.

Maybe livezilla should be integrated with the WHMCS ticket system, it's a billing and email ticket system all in one!

First i want to say i really like livezilla very much and really great that you keep it free.

I agree with a good ticket system/knowledge base/FAQ
I installed livezilla to help my customers but i found out i have to few options to store all questions and so on.
Also an option to put your knowledge back on your website as a FAQ would be very good.

I really hope you will add a feature like this in future versions of livezilla

Why do people keep suggesting paid ticket systems?

LiveZilla is Freeware...integrating it into a paid software/solution would defeat the entire purpose of the idea of "Freeware".

If it were to integrate with a Ticket System it would probably be an Open Source solution such as:
osTicket : http://www.osticket.com/
OTRS - Open Ticket Request System : http://otrs.org/
eTicket : http://www.eticketsupport.com/

Well,

maybe because some of those paid systems are very cheap and good and better then the opensource counterparts but just lack a good chat system

I think Jeremy is right, LiveZilla is something "special" - it's free, opensource and it's still 1st class software, very professional - and looks like commercial solution.

But - when you look at free/opensource ticket systems, they just look poor, and it's just not professional to use something like that on commercial website, as it'll scary potential customers :) Most business owners will choose Kayako or other big-guys scripts, which are unfortunately a bit expensive.

I searched probably all helpdesks on HotScripts, and unfortunately there was only 1 nice looking, free solution which name I don't remember now as it wasn't working in the way I expected, so I used "GreenDesktiny.com", which was quite nice looking and affordable - and the most important, for admin/business owner, it was nice with AJAX used, work was easy. "IzzySupport.com" works in similar way - doesn't require you to reload pages to reply to a customer, do it works more like a desktop than normal script, furthermore it just looks good.

If there is any free/opensource ticket script, which is the same professional level as LiveZilla, I would be very happy to know it

Cheap is one thing...and that's great...I have no problem with people trying to make money or anything like that...but if you want a project that is freeware or opensource to integrate YOUR project then YOU MUST be free or open source. It isn't so it won't be and that is why the mods removed your links (even from my quotes).

When it comes to integrating with LiveZilla, I'm sure the LZ Team wouldn't be offended if you wanted to connect your project with theirs as long as you gave the credit for the software and didn't charge extra for it but the gist is...if you want LiveZilla integrated into YOUR project then that is up to YOU to do it. That goes to EVERY paid project team...not just you.

First of all, LiveZilla is NOT open source...it is freeware. There is a difference and a very large difference between the two. Open source means the source code is available to the public and modifications to the source is allowed under GPL or CC. LiveZilla is proprietary source code that they do NOT give out however they do provide the software for free so that makes it Freeware. Now that that's out of the way.

All of the suggestions I made for Open Source Ticket systems look just fine and if they aren't to your taste simply change how they look just like I do with everything I use. You look at the platform not the design of something. osTicket is a very good platform actually.

As for HotScripts...yea HS is not the best source for any script actually...it has pretty much become a joke and only contains tacky code. There are a few good things on it but overall the code there is mediocre at best.

Just food for thought here, we have a ticketing system at work and I configured LiveZilla to email a copy of each transcript to an email account that is monitored by our ticketing software. We are able to add rules to this monitor that automatically create a support ticket out of the transcript.

That is an interesting thought...integrating with a ticket system through the emailed transcripts.

I personally use the Email Transcripts as well but I don't have them with a ticket system...I may just try that.

yea they deactivated signatures for most people (99%) I am the exception it seems. I guess they have it based on a post count quota, like if you get 50 posts or something the sigs activate. I dont know for sure or if that is even what they are doing. They didn't ever remove mine so it could be just a post count thing.

Yeah, i just got a private message from livezilla with this message:

Hello MyVistaHosting,

Your account on "LiveZilla.net" has been deactivated, most likely due to
changes made to your profile. In order to reactivate your account you must
click on the link below:
